Mothers have to nurture their babies as nature has made provisions for it through breastfeeding. Though babies may survive with infant formulas, they may have more advantages when breastfed. Women have a choice if they would like to have healthier and stronger babies especially those who can provide sufficient breast milk. Breastfed babies get the natural nutrients that they need in order to have stronger immune systems. Mothers do not have to worry about preparing as they can breastfeed their babies as needed. They also do not have to wash and sterilize feeding bottles for their babies.

Breastfeeding provides for the right temperature of milk for babies. Babies are able to get the necessary fats and proteins from it. They can also have their supply of proteins, carbohydrates as well as vitamins and minerals. Babies also get the antibodies that they need in order to fight diseases especially during the early stages of their lives. Babies may also have lesser chances at getting infections because of stronger immune systems.  Breast milk may change to meet the current needs of the babies. Infant formulas try to imitate what breastfeeding can give to babies. However, manufacturers will never come close to the advantages that breastfeeding can provide.

Parents do not have to spend a lot if mothers choose breastfeeding. They may be able to save money not only from purchasing expensive infant formulas. Parents may also lessen their expenses when it comes to fees paid to their babies’ doctors because of illnesses. Breastfeeding also lessens the risks of babies ingesting contaminated water. Mothers who choose to bottle feed their babies have to be very sure about the water that they would use to prepare infant formulas. Breastfed babies may also have lesser risk of acquiring illnesses such as diabetes and they may also have lower incidence of developing tooth decay.

Mothers also enjoy some advantages of breastfeeding their babies. Their bodies are able to use more energy when they breastfeed their babies. Their bodies are also able to heal faster as their uterus shrinks down to its normal size.  Breastfeeding also helps mothers to lessen the occurrence of bleeding. They may also have lower risks when it comes to breast cancer. Mothers do not have to worry if they sick because they can still breastfeed their babies. They do not pass their illness to their babies through breastfeeding. One of the best advantages of breastfeeding is that babies and mothers feel very close to each as their bonding become stronger each feeding time.
